Brian Lockwood (born in England) was a Rugby League World Cup winning footballer of the 1970s and 80s. He played for Canterbury-Bankstown, Balmain, Widnes, Hull KR, Castleford, Wakefield Trinity and for the Great Britain national side. After the 1980 Rugby League Challenge Cup final he was awarded the Lance Todd Trophy for his man-of-the-match performance.

Brian Lockwood won caps for England while at Castleford in 1970 against France (sub), and while at Hull K.R. in 1979 against Wales, and France, and won caps for Great Britain while at Castleford in the 1972 Rugby League World Cup against Australia (2 matches), France, and New Zealand, in 1973 against Australia (2 matches), in 1974 against France, while at Hull K.R. in 1978 against Australia, and in 1979 New Zealand (sub).[1]
Brian Lockwood played Right-Second-row, i.e. number 12, in Castleford’s 11-6 victory over Salford in the 1969 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 17 May 1969,[2] and the 7-2 victory over Wigan in the 1970 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on the 9th May 1970.[3]
Brian Lockwood is a Tigers Hall Of Fame Inductee.[4]
Lockwood moved to Sydney's Canterbury-Bankstown club in 1974, reaching the Grand Final with them that year. He later joined Balmain.[5]
